Bird Feeder

A little birdie told us that this was one DIY you have to try! Making a bird feeder together creates fun bonding time with the kids, plus your backyard becomes much more exciting. Every day, your little birdwatchers will want to see who’s flying in for a visit. This activity also teaches kids how to reuse regular items around the house for a good purpose. So, let’s turn an ordinary plastic jug into a buffet table for the birds!
Let’s Get Started!
Cut 2 rectangle openings on each side of the jug for the feeding windows (parent-only step). Paint the outside of the jug with stripes, designs or whatever you like. Optional: after painting, spray the outside of the jug with acrylic spray paint to set the paint.
When paint is completely dry, cut an X on each side of the jug (parent-only step). Push the dowel through the Xs to create a bird perch.
Pour bird seeds into the bottom of the jug.
Tie a piece of twine around the top of the jug. Use the cap to secure the twine.
Loop the twine onto a tree branch and wait for the hungry birds to flock around your new bird seeder!
watch how it's done!
